Note: A veteran of World War II, Gordon served with the US Army from April 1942 until August 1945. During this time he took part in the Tunisian campaign and he was wounded twice during the Italian campaign. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of Capt Frank Lester Mead Post, VFW No 1795. A Military funeral was held at the Florence Garrison Freitag & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon with the Bridgeton Veteran Council in charge.
