Simplified, a constant 1991 dollar is estimated to have equalled about $14.85 for the period 1875-1900. So Arthur Brewster's $12.68 would have been the equivalent of about $188 in 1991. That seems a good deal more substantial than the $12 of about 1895-6 he was about 16.

Text: Am not at all sure when the information was collected for 1907, i.e. was it collected in 1906 for 1907? First appearance for both Arthur and his brother-in-law, Bill Buchanan:

[There is also a Walter Brewster sec. Passaic Print Works, h. N. Y. City. - so he is living in NYC.]
